I have had costochondritis for last six months and I've had consulted with a doctor and had medicine and it is still not treated. What should I do?

First make sure that you have the diagnosis of costochondritis. Once your doctor has confirmed diagnosis of costochondritis, It is recommended that you take prescription strength NSAIDS, like ibuprofen 400 to 800 mg 3 to 4 times a day. If it is not helpful, you can add muscle relaxant like cyclobenzaprine 5 to 10 mg three times a day. You can also use heat and cold therapy on the chest in the affected area.Also try to minimize activity that increases the pain. Hope this helps.
