E-cigarettes are smokable, refillable or replaceable cartridge or container that contains nicotine, solvents, and chemical flavors. When a person inhales, they are putting negative pressure on the device that triggers a battery to heat the liquid solution, which is then anatomized into an inhalable vapor. What does researches say regarding e-cigarette use?

There are so many controversial idea/data regarding vaping but different researches had suggested that e-cigarette devices might be less harmful than combustible cigarette when people who regularly smoke switch to them as a complete replacement. But nicotine in any form is a highly addictive drug. So, it’s better to avoid both in any circumstances.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed 60 deaths in patients with e-cigarette, or vaping, product use associated lung injury (EVALI) in Columbia district of USA recently in Jan 2020.

Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine, which has known health effect like:

Besides nicotine, e-cigarettes aerosol contain substances that can harm the body like cancer causing chemicals and tiny particles that reach deep into lungs. However, e-cigarette aerosol are said to contain fewer harmful chemicals that traditional smoking.

Acute exposure to nicotine can be toxic. Children and adults have been poisoned by swallowing, breathing, or absorbing e-cigarette liquid through their skin or eyes

E-cigarette was considered as the way to stop smoking but it give rise to the another problem that people continue traditional smoking along with e-smoking which is known as dual use and few continue to use e-cigarette on regular basis.

E-cigarette expose the lungs to different substances. One of these is dicetyl, which can cause “popcorn lung,” a severe and irreversible lung disease.

In a recent animal studies , it was found that E-cigarette may contribute to lung and bladder cancer, as well heart disease which may apply to human but further studies are required

E-cigarettes can cause unintended injuries like fire & explosions from defective batteries which have resulted into serious injuries.

With the introduction of e-cigarette in market, lots of controversies arise about vape being harmful over tradition way of smoking, Vaping is still fairly new, and scientists are still learning about their long-term health effects.
